HELP!! Chouchou is missing!!

Yesterday, while we were all sitting around in the garden, Chouchou wandered off and never came back. Mom didn't notice right away because Chouchou loves to sit in the flowers or to go to the neighbor's yard, but she always comes when she's called...until yesterday.

Mom is worried sick. There is no sign of Chouchou anywhere and we have asked all the neighbors to check their attics and cellars, but no Chouchou. Mom started putting up flyers today and will continue tomorrow. Well, she's done that in between her bouts of crying. We saw Mom walking through the forest calling for Chouchou then she would start crying really hard. We are so sorry. Now, Mom is afraid that maybe someone might have taken her and is keeping her. Who knows?!!

Everyone says to stay hopeful since kitties like to sometimes go off for a few days and do kitty things, but it's hard to stay hopeful when we know that this world isn't perfect and that not all humans love kitties.

PLEASE SAY A FEW PURRAYERS THAT CHOUCHOU COMES HOME REALLY, REALLY SOON AND IS OK. PLEASE. Not just Mom misses Chouchou, I miss her, too!! She's my sister and my playpal and it is just too quiet around here without her. Tiny, at nearly 19 years and 7 months, is just no fun to play with unless it is just to jump on her when she walks by (she doesn't hear very well so it is easy to surprise her).

CHOUCHOU!!
COME HOME!!
PLEASE!!!
WE LOVE YOU
& MISS YOU!!!

PLEASE, PLEASE HELP the Big Cats (Lions)!!

I know you love cats or you wouldn't be here looking at my blog so I am asking you to take some of that love of 'little' cats and give it to big cats..in this case to LIONS.

PLEASE!

WHY? Because whether you are aware of it or not, lions are being 'farmed' for hunters to kill. This means that they are held in captivity (all their lives) and the females are forced to have babies which are taken away from her at 3 days old and hand-raised by humans. All cats are kept in pens their entire life and are often in contact with humans. At the age of 5 years old, the lions are 'released' (to a larger pen) where a hunter is waiting to shoot them. This is called 'Canned Hunting' and it has become very popular in South Africa in the last 10 years.

This lion was killing an antelope when she was killed...look at the smiles on these people's faces? How can they smile over the dead body of such a beautiful creature?

The hunter pays a lot of money and expects to take home a lion trophy. Lion farming assures that the hunter - be it a man or woman (yes, there are a lot of woman hunters killing lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars and other big cats!!) goes home with such a trophy.

These smiling idiots killed a WHITE lion...look how beautiful he was. :o(

I find this to be a sick, sad and horrifying 'industry'. Lions are already endangered. Trophy hunters say they are 'conservationists', but where is the conservation in killing animals that are endangered? Where is the conservation in killing? Hunters are just trying to justify their bloodlust. Many, many of these hunters come from the US, while a good number also come from Europe. For this reason several petitions have been created targeting US and EU governments.

You don't have to believe me, just google 'canned hunting', 'Melissa Bachman' 'african safari' (e.g. http://www.intrepidsafaris.co.za/), etc...and you will enter into a world that - if you are like me - will turn your stomach and make your blood boil.

These 'canned' lions (the term for lions brought up on farms), don't stand a chance in hell. In some cases they are even drugged so as to make the kill easier or to transport them to a place where the hunter can get 'points' for shooting a 'wild' lion. I find this all incredibly sad, disturbing and sick and it breaks my heart to imagine these majestic creatures suffering like this simply to pacify the greed of a hunter who has too much money (they pay about $38,000 each) and too much time on his/her hands.

Please, please, please..if you love your little lion(s), think about the big ones and sign the petitions to stop lion hunting, canned hunting, trophy hunting and to put a stop to importing lion parts (the Chinese think that lion bones hold magic cures) or lion trophies. If we can block all the routes perhaps enough pressure will fall on the canned lion industry to stop. We must try And we must be the voice for all those big cats.  They have no voice. Please. PLEASE HELP THEM!

Please sign and share these petitions. PLEASE!!!

A petition to save the white lion:

This is not right...this beautiful creature should be protected and not hunted.

19 Years and 2 months ago today....

(song begins now)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY (AND TWO MONTHS) TO ME
HAPPY BIRTHDAY (AND TWO MONTHS) TO ME
HAPPY BIRTHDAY (AND TWO MONTHS) ME, ME, ME, MEEEEEEE
HAPPY BIRTHDAY (AND TWO MONTHS) TO ME!!

You might be wondering if you missed my actual 19th birthday, but not to worry, you didn't. No, we didn't celebrate it. Maybe YOU can tell me why because I don't know. I decided that now I will celebrate it each month...as of today!! hehe!! The privileges of old age!! And boooyyy am I gonna milk it for all it's worth!!

So, I'm looking pretty darn good for my 19+ years aren't I!?
Hey! Don't forget: I am Tiny...I am Mighty*...I am Tiny Mighty!!
*Admittedly, lately I am having a bit of trouble with my hips and joints, but I think after the long life I have lived (albeit a very spoiled one!), this is just part of growing older.

Ok, I'm going to take another little nap now.
See you in a month!
Good night!

We da Meen Dawgs....

When we aren't busy keeping the fire company....

...or snuggling up together like the little angels we are...

 we're making sure...SURE...
that that Santa Claus does not think he can
come and steal OUR COOKIES AND MILK next year.

(In case you missed it, we had an earlier post where Ellwood thought he did the Claus man in...since then we have been making sure that the deed was properly done...and re-done. hehe)

Two Years Ago...

Exactly 2 years ago I said 'good-bye' to my sweet, dear, INCREDIBLY LOVED
boy...Lautrec...Lolo

He was my sun and my moon and my stars and I loved him with all my heart.
He had cancer. He couldn't stay. I had to let him go.
Now he is pain free for 2 years.
But I still miss him.

 Lolo with his sis-fur, Tiny.
Tiny turned 19 years old last month. Since Lolo passed, she spends nights sleeping close to my head..purring all night long (or so it seems)...she knows I loved him so and she is with me to bring me his love...and hers. I love her, too, ever so much!!

 Lolo loved to snuggle anywhere
and he was always a late-riser in the morning.

 Lolo was Love.
My LoLove.

 He was 'Baby'
..and 'Sweets'
..and 'Candyman'
He was
and ALWAYS will be
LOVED.

LOLO, I MISS YOU.
MY HEART ACHES FOR YOU.
WAIT FOR ME AT THE BRIDGE.
I WILL COME SOME DAY AND WE WILL BE
TOGETHER AGAIN.
