WHAT IS THIS HODGEPODGE OF STICKS AND DIRT?
OK, I agree, this doesn't look like much right now,
but I tell you: WATCH THIS SPACE!!
As members of the Society of Feline Gardeners - SOFG (see here) we just planted several kinds of squashes and even cucumbers in our 'aged' compost pile. It had a year to work itself up into a good bit of soil so we finally turned it (well, I had a lesser being do it for me...no sense me getting my gorgeous self dirty! Heaven forbid!!) and now we have 'officially' planted the seedlings. Why do I say 'officially'? Well, because normally we just throw a pumpkin into the compost in early Spring and wait to see what grows which, in the past, has been masses of pumpkins and miles of pumpkin vines. This year though, Mom decided that we needed to be more civilised - even if the location is not so civilised - about it and grow a more interesting variety of squashes in the compost so she ordered a few kinds of seeds and now all we can do is wait and see what kind of show/exhibit they are going to put on for the whole world to see.
To be honest, I'm not really SURE what exactly you are looking at behind me...
...but I do believe these two guys are supposed to be
a nice marbley green-skinned pumpkin.
I guess we will all have to be patient and just wait to see what comes up....
...but I have to say that I've already got an appetite just thinking about what MIGHT grow.
----------- Flower Power -----------
And while we are in the garden (field) I would like to give this daisy to my pretty AttieCattie and hope that she forgives me for our long blogging absence*.
A flower for my Sweet. (Please visit her blog and also visit the rescue blog she refers to in her post of June 7...please!!)
Honestly, you have to admit that I look pretty darn manly strutting around in that patch of daisies. Tell me you can resist my charm....try!!
(*Note: we were not bloggin due to a forced time-out as a result of some incompetent person at the telephone company accidentally turning our internet off!! Hisss!)

Jonesie says we can only have 3 squash plants this year because they take over so much space.
Wow that is sweet of you to give a pretty daisy to Attie - she is going to love it! And we agree you do look very manly in the daisy's there.
And we can't wait to see what happens with your garden - our mom is obsessed with cucumbers and will be so jealous if you get lots and lots of them - but we do hope you get lots of tasty stuff (including the cucumbers of course!)
