Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!

Yeah, we know, Christmas is (long) over and that song
'Let it Snow' should be back in the record box and in the closet
BUT
we still like to sing it as we romp and play in the snow!!

Look at my loooooonnnng shadow!! I'm a big dog in the Winter!!

Ellwood has been putting his whole head in the snow again.

Me, I just kinda poke my nose all over and snow falls on me cuz I'm small.

And we both love to run in the snow...

All while Chouchou and Elioth do what they do best...
.NOTHING.
duh!

OK, despite the fact that Mom has been putting out hundreds of seeds DAILY, would you believe NOTHING is growing in our garden! And the seeds are disappearing at an alarming rate....just look and see why...

Yep, we have tons of snow (and now ice, too) AND lots and lots of birds. So much for doing any gardening! Oh, well, these are pictures of our garden so we're going to post them anyway for Jonesie's Gardening Thursday (SOFG). Did you recognise the curly end of Rusty's tail in the foreground of the first picture?

(FYI, that is a Nuthatch (EN)/Gros bec (F)/Dlast (CZ) in the feeder in the second picture as well as a black bird/merle/kos. In the First picture there are several kinds of tits/mesanges/sykorky, goldfinches/tarin des aulnes/cizek and, of course, the ever territorial black birds again.)

Are Humans Crazy???

Tiny and I are happily snuggled in the house in roasty-toasty beds and cozy corners, but outside it is just dang cold....you know, like way below freezing. I know because I went to the door and stuck my nose out...then I did a 180 and was back on a warm spot. It is just way too cold outside for me!!! Seriously, look at the above picture, would you choose to go out in that? Are humans crazy?? How can they WANT to be in that cold, awful, white stuff that sticks to your paws AND freezes them?? Crazy. Plain crazy. No other explanation for such irrational behaviour!

Tiny's Tuesday

Look into my eyes...you don't have to be a mind reader to know what I'm thinking about. Yep. Snow. You know, the stuff that we keep getting. Ok, in all fairness we did have a little break in the weather where the temps were above freezing so a lot melted, but now it is below freezing again so there is lots of ice out there. As you can imagine, us delicate kitties do not like to go out in that stuff. I think even the birds don't like to go out because Mom put old bread, apples AND a seed ball on what is our kitty city terrace (in the summer!) and NO ONE has touched any of it!! Can you believe that? Where are the birdies? Maybe Ellwood has scared them away!

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: OK, I just wrote the above stuff to divert Lolo's attention...he hates talking about the weather so I'm sure he won't even read to the bottom of that paragraph which is a good thing because now I want to talk to you about something really important and LOLO ABSOLUTELY CAN'T KNOW. There's going to be a surprise pawty on 22 December to celebrate Lolo's 12th birthday!! I've been in touch with Lolo's ladycat the supercool Attiecattie and she said that she will help me organise Lolo's pawty. What a great sisfur-in-paw she is AND she has really neat pawty ideas. I won't tell you much now, but everyone please reserve Wednesday, 22 December for THE PAWTY OF THE DECADE. We're gonna have a great pawty for Lolo, but shhhh...it has got to be a SURPRISE so please don't say anything to him!! Stay warm and stay tuned for more information!!

A Hi-jacking!!

HULLLLOOOOOOOOO THERE! I have decided to hi-jack 'Lolo's Monday' because Lolo has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING worth mentioning these last couple of days. Me, Ellwood, on the other hand, I have done lots of things worth mentioning like chasing down or catching in the air about a million snow balls AND I have also done a lot of snow sniffing for under-snow introoders. What has Lolo done? He has slept and slept and slept, oh, and in between he ate and ate and ate and talked a lot (I swear, those Siamese are the loudest, mouthiest animals on this planet!).

Here are some pictures of me at work! I'm am such a good worker...you can tell by all the snow on my face!!

IT'S COOOOOLD OUT HERE!! LET ME IN!!

You see this picture? That is me begging to be let in the house after Mom so thoughtlessly took me from my oh-so-warm tile stove, dressed me (ha! if this little itty-bitty bit of nothing counts as a sweater!) and forced me to go OUTSIDE!! I am not a winter-loving kitty. I am a tropical loving, heat sponge of a kitty - does she not get this?

So there we were outside and she decides that I need to have some grass (I do love grass) so first she takes me to my favorite big Linden tree (favorite in THE SUMMER), but when I try to make a bee-line for the door to the house, she picks me back up, wraps me in her coat and takes me up to our upper garden (about a 100 miles from the door to the house) and just drops me there and says 'chow down Honey!' Chow down Honey?

All I can think about is getting my frozen lovely little lilac toes back onto the warm stove and she is telling me to chow down? So I stood there. And after a couple of seconds she still didn't pick me up so I did what we Siamese do best... I started BAWLING!! (I'm a really good bawler...I can make it sound like someone is sitting on me...I'm really good!!). Finally, she picked me up and carried me closer to the house (about a mile from the door) and told me I had to walk the rest of the way back - THROUGH SNOW!! When I was finally in the house I went straight to the blue tile stove.

Ahhhh!

I think I won't move from this spot until Summer gets here!
Mom! Can you bring me my lunch up here, please?

Of Grass and Birds and Blue Heat

Yesterday, Mom loaded us into the car - for the first time in 2 months - and brought us to our house with the garden (we've been in our city home since early January) and we were all excited because we were feeling the Spring bug and have sooo been looking forward to eating some fresh grass in the garden...and we did...YESTERDAY. But, during the night, while we were sleeping, some horrible giant came along and put a HUGE white blanket all over everything and when we woke up this morning, the first thing Mom said was that she HAD to go outside right away and feed the birds...NOT US...THE BIRDS!! There we were, starving after not eating all night and she has the nerve to feed the birds FIRST!

Just look at them...they are sooooo spoiled...couldn't they have waited for us to get fed first? I mean SO WHAT if it is below freezing out there...WE ARE HUNGRY!!

Once we FINALLY got our breakfast we were happy, because we like being in the country house. Only here can we sleep on top of the big blue warm table/couch thing...we LOVE it!! I know it doesn't look soft and cushy, but it is so warm...kinda the same as laying on a cold tile floor in the hot summer but this is a hot tile surface in the winter...we just stretch out and take in all the heat!! (Note from Mom: that big blue thing Lautrec is talking about is what the French call a 'fourneau en faience' or in Czech a 'kachlova kamna'...a wood burning stove, if you want, surrounded by a large construction of porcelain tiles that hold the heat from the fire, keeping the house warm with a lovely, soft heat...which makes it very attractive to the cats!!)
