Freakin' Freezin' Friday

Come on sunshine...warm me up!!
Come on sunshine and show me some green grass!

Hey Lolo, watcha doin up there?

Oh, I'm thinkin' about eatin' some of this old, dry, brown grass because I can't find any green grass.
It's s-soo c-cold out here I might just go back inside and forget all about the green stuff.

Yeah, I'd sure like some nice green grass, too. I'll come and help you find some.

None here.
Nope, I'm not finding any either...

What about over here...
Nope, nothing.

You see any up there Tiny?
Nope...it's the same everywhere.

I'm packin' it up and goin' back in the house...it is just TOO DANG COLD out here!!

I'm right behind you on that..RIGHT BEHIND YOU!!
Man, I think my toes are frozen!!

Yep, this last week the temperatures have been low, low, low, but we two tough senior cats braved the extremes anyway! Are you impressed? OK, there is no snow on the ground, but the air is so nasty cold IT BITES!! So did we...the old, brown grass because we would sooooo love to have a mouthful of fresh grass, but all there is is the old brown stuff.
WILL SPRING EVER COME BACK??

The Good Stuff

OK, Tiny here..while Lautrec continues to pout in the closet, I will take over. This picture was taken a few days ago (before Mom 'abandoned' us!)....yes, I AM there... behind Lautrec...see my ear? Lautrec LOVES grass and, as you can see, he is really enthusiastic about it. He is so funny because he is sitting about 3 feet from the grass you see in this picture, but he is trying to reach out and grab it ... yeah!! Like he has paws that are THAT long!! He's funny.

I just wish he would quit moping around and get out of that closet. Mom will come back. She promised and I believe her. Yeah, so, Dad doesn't know how to love us like she does, but I'm thinking that when Mom does come back we will get a huge, humongous dose of lovin' like we've NEVER had so I'm already looking forward to that!!

Spring in the City & the Country

Yesterday, I went out on our city terrace (ok, our balcony!!) for the first time this year!! We've had such cold weather until now that we didn't even want to put our noses outside...but today I managed to put my whole self outside long enough to take a peak and a big sniff of Spring. I didn't stay long out there because Mom told me I had to come in because it was time to go the country house. As always, we both hated the 1 hour ride in the car, but when we got here we realised it was soo worth it because the weather was great! In fact, it was so nice we spent at least an hour outside just checking our favourite areas of the garden, eating grass and soaking up the sun.

That's me there in the lower-right of this pic and if you look closely, you can see Tiny there in the upper left. Tiny blends in really well doesn't she? I say she is catouflaged. After all that fresh air, snoopin' around and eating grass (even if it was sad, old, dry last year's grass it still tasted good!) we were thoroughly exhausted and slept like dogs!! Now we are ready for more of the same today!! Woooo hooo!

Of Grass and Birds and Blue Heat

Yesterday, Mom loaded us into the car - for the first time in 2 months - and brought us to our house with the garden (we've been in our city home since early January) and we were all excited because we were feeling the Spring bug and have sooo been looking forward to eating some fresh grass in the garden...and we did...YESTERDAY. But, during the night, while we were sleeping, some horrible giant came along and put a HUGE white blanket all over everything and when we woke up this morning, the first thing Mom said was that she HAD to go outside right away and feed the birds...NOT US...THE BIRDS!! There we were, starving after not eating all night and she has the nerve to feed the birds FIRST!

Just look at them...they are sooooo spoiled...couldn't they have waited for us to get fed first? I mean SO WHAT if it is below freezing out there...WE ARE HUNGRY!!

Once we FINALLY got our breakfast we were happy, because we like being in the country house. Only here can we sleep on top of the big blue warm table/couch thing...we LOVE it!! I know it doesn't look soft and cushy, but it is so warm...kinda the same as laying on a cold tile floor in the hot summer but this is a hot tile surface in the winter...we just stretch out and take in all the heat!! (Note from Mom: that big blue thing Lautrec is talking about is what the French call a 'fourneau en faience' or in Czech a 'kachlova kamna'...a wood burning stove, if you want, surrounded by a large construction of porcelain tiles that hold the heat from the fire, keeping the house warm with a lovely, soft heat...which makes it very attractive to the cats!!)
