Tiny's Tuesday

Hi there!! Today on Tiny's Tuesday, I'm going to let you in on a little secret about me...behind this well-groomed, sophisticated outter shell is a good ol' down home girl that loves farm animals. It's true! I swear!! Sadly, though, we don't have any farm animals of our own, so whenever Mom and Dad see some while driving around they will, for my viewing pleasure, photograph them for me. Here's is a little collection of my favourite cow and horse photos from this Spring.

Mooooo!!! Naaaaaaayyyy!!
I hope you enjoy them!! I also have a chicken, sheep and pig photo collection, but those will have to wait for another time!!

P.S. I have to admit that I have NEVER come face-to-face with any of these kinds of animals...I don't think I'm mighty enough for that!! But I do so admire them from afar!!

Frozen Gardening Thursday - The Woofer Speaks

OK, here it is, Thursday - gardening day - and up until now I have stayed out of the gardening posts, but today, I have been FORCED to post for those lazy cats.

Why? Because they refuse to leave their warm beds (just like me - hehe!) because not only did we have snow falling yesterday, but overnight the temperature dropped several degrees BELOW ZERO (freezing - we're talking Celcius here)!! When we all got up this morning and looked outside, we nearly cried because the peonies (among others), which were growing so nicely - no blooms yet THANKFULLY - were all bent over and were covered with bits of ice!! Last week it was sooo warm and wonderful, but now that it is May...we have this cold crap (sorry about that strong word, but I'm just not happy!)

BRRR!! I'm going back under cover now....see you when the sun comes back!!

The Wood's Wednesday - How to Hide Stuff

Hi there everyone!! Today I'm going to show you how I hide stuff. Hiding stuff is fun and there are so many things to hide..you know, like shiney treasures (car keys, house keys, a phone, etc.), bones, toys, one of Mom's favourite shoes (just one! NOT both!), or, as I chose for today's demonstration, a doggie cookie.

OK, this is how I do it:

1. Hold the treat firmly in your mouth and take it out into the garden.

2. Find a good hidey place for it (Suggestion: its a good idea to scope out potential hidey places ahead of time so you don't waste time looking for one when you need to hide something in a hurry).

3. Dig a hole.

4. Put the cookie in the hole and push the dirt over it using your nose.

5. Keep pushing that dirt cuz you gotta make sure you cover it good!!

6. Suggestion: Don't let anyone see your hidey place!!

7. There you are!! All done!! One other suggestion: clean your nose off before you go back in the house or your Mom will know what you have been up to and will follow you the next time she gives you a cookie.

Good luck!!

Tiny's Outside Tuesday

Lautrec and I often hang out in the upper garden which is mostly hillside, but there are several little walls and walkways, stairs and places to perch, watch and just relax and do nothing. From the upper garden there is a partial view of the lower garden.

Me, I like watching over my territory and the best way to do that is to perch myself on a prime-spot where I can watch all that happens in 'Tiny's Territory'. Do you blame me??

Lolo's Spring

Oh Spring...how do I love thee?...here are but a couple of the ways:

- sitting on a cushion on the bench under our 150-year-old linden tree listening to all the singing birds;

- in the field behind the barn...the smells are fabulous!!

Kitties in need of so much.....

We are sooo incredibly lucky to have all that we need and more, but there are so many kitties and cats out there that have nothing. NOTHING! No thing!! Not homes, not food, not a nice warm bed and not even someone to love them. Often, the one thing that those cats that have nothing have is an illness. That is the worst possible combination of bad and bad.

Well, a while back we heard about Shell. She was such a kitty. Alone and with nothing...nothing but sickness. Shell was adopted by a wonderful woman that wanted to give Shell a chance at life, but sadly, Shell was just too sick. One thing that was good in Shell's life was that she had a few days of learning what love was before she crossed over the rainbow bridge. The wonderful lady that gave Shell love also gave a lot from her pocket to try to help her (and other kitties similar to Shell)...but her pocket was very small so that nice lady asked for the help of others to auction off items that could earn money for lonely, sad, sick and helpless kitties.

Please go to the auction and bid on something. There are so many wonderful things that surely you will find something. And know that whatever you do find, it will always carry with it the fact that because you bought it, you helped give a kitty a chance at life...at a real life.

For more information and to see pictures of items on auction, please go here:
