Patient Beauty

Sometimes Mom starts working on the computer BEFORE she gives us breakfast (yes, how DARE she!). I try to be patient most of the time and I honestly think I am - unlike someone else here - here's some pictures of me being a patient angel.

I have to admit, I think I look beautiful.

Mancat Friday

Slurp...slurp...slurp...
I am a very clean Mancat...
nothing can disturb my cleaning session...
nothing...
WHAT??!! Did you say 'eat'??
(Mom says 'manger' - French for 'eat')
Say it again Mom...I love that word!!
('Manger' and 'chicken' are my very favorite words!!)

P.S. Mom helped me upload this video but had a crazy stupid time trying to get it here so please forgive her if this post seems to have shown up several times. She was so frustrated she even said lots of big words that I won't repeat.

Thursday Gardening!!

As you may or may not know, we are members of the Society of Feline Gardeners (please see Cory Cat Blog for more information) so every Thursday we talk about gardening. Well, today I was looking at the grapes we have growing in front of the house and I told Mom that maybe we should cut some of them off. She said that it's too soon; we have to wait until they turn purple - which should be in a couple of months.

Darn, I was all ready to put on the gloves and start snippin'!!

Mom was picking weeds when suddenly something moved...a little tiny toad!!! She showed it to me and I was kinda afraid of it...I don't know why but I kinda freak a little when I see small crawly things..oooo!...they give me the willies!!!

I just saw that little guy move and I HAD to close my eyes and look away! Yeah, I know, I'm not much of a Mancat am I!! Sure. Fine. Laugh at me...at least I'm not afraid of spiders!!

What? Did he say he isn't afraid of spiders? Liar!! He just sorta looks at them, has almost never touched one and for sure he has NEVER eaten one! I eat them all the time...I do it for Mom (Mom hates spiders so she 'trained' me to eat them, but little does she know that I would eat them anyway because I think they are mighty tasty!!). I don't eat toads though...not because I don't want to (though I don't think I would like their taste!), but because Mom loves all other little creatures, she says that toads and frogs, lizards and butterflies, birds and dragonflies and snakes are all off limits...we can only eat spiders and mice. So, Lautrec only gets mice (THAT HE STEALS FROM ME!). Mancat? Ha!! Think again. FRAIDYCAT!!

Tiny's Tuesday - overcoming 'The Fear'

It's true! I think I'm overcoming 'The Fear'...you know, of the 'Trooder'...I actually walked to the pond today!! Yep!! I did it! Lautrec was with me and so was Mom so I felt more secure...

Lautrec has been so sweet...(I can't BELIEVE I'm saying that!!)...he kept me company today when I went all the way to the pond. He even watched out for the Trooder with me.

What was that??

Lautrec: Relax Tiny, I'm watching out for that Trooder..he wouldn't dare come anywhere close to you while I'm here...and while Mom is here.

You're probably right, but I think I'll get back to the house now...

A Day in the Life of Us

Naps are essential to us and all cats everywhere on earth. Here are some pictures of us enjoying our three favourite naps (these particular naps are strictly limited to warm, summer days like yesterday) These naps are as follows:
1. our Morning Nap;
2. our Afternoon Nap; and
3. our Evening Nap.

Ahh, life is good!!!

1. MORNING NAP

Napping in the early morning sun and the neat shadows that dance on the wall.

Warning: One cat can hide another.

2. AFTERNOON NAP

Here I am napping next to the stones that spell out 'there' - in French ('La-Bas' is what Mom and Dad call our country house). I am so la-bas!!

The sun has moved west enough so that the cobblestones just in front of the house are in the shade. I like to lay here near the front door because the cool air from inside the house pours out and over me...like natural air-conditioning!!

Tiny: 'The weather today is Exquithith and this spot is Fabuluth!!!'

Tiny is once again daring to sleep on a chair outside despite suffering from 'badTAT*'...I was keeping watch (yes, I CAN see through my eyelids!!) and Mom was nearby so maybe that helped.

3. EVENING NAP

When the sun is behind the trees, we like to lay on the still warm cobblestones and roll around...ooo, what a great stone massage!!

* For a definition of badTAT, please see our post from yesterday, 1 August.

WEEZ IZ BACK!!

Hello, hello, hellooooooo!!!

Yeah, finally, we are back and hopefully on track again after Mom's eye operation and then the bean visit. Now the house is empty (for the moment) and we are taking a duly earned breather from it all.

Actually, the weather is very NOT summery right now...cool, gray and rainy so we are taking FULL advantage of it to nap, nap and nap. Hey! We are cats!

As for the nasty introoder, I haven't seen him lately, but Tiny continues to be on the look-out though it seems to me that she is spending a bit more time outside, which means that she is getting over her bad Trooder Attack Trauma (badTAT).

We hope you are all well and have been having a wonderful summer. We look forward to hearing from you and reading your blogs and getting all caught up...which may take a while, but we'll get going on that...promise!!

Purrs to everyone!!
