Ficelle; News from Home and Geneva

Coucou! Ficelle here again all stretched out and comfy cuz outside it is COLD!! But inside it is nice and warm...ahhh...life is good. Please, can anyone tell me WHERE Spring is?? It is soooooo cold here!!

Yesterday, Lautrec telepathed (telecat'd) with me to say that they are doing ok, then he sent a couple of pictures. Yep, that's Lautrec there in his Mom's closet (frankly, I, myself prefer sleeping in the laundry basket when my Mom is gone) and Tiny is on their cat couch. They are fine though I do have to admit that Lautrec does look a bit forlorn...but hey, in a couple of days his Mom will be out of my fur and back to nibbling on his toes and I will finally be able to let my nice pink toes be free and without harassment.

Otherwise, I thought maybe you might like to see a couple of pictures of Geneva. Just quick shots in the old town. Geneva is famous for it's place at the end of Lac Leman and for the 'jet d'eau' (the big fountain in the lake), but since it is just SOO typical photograph that, I preferred to show you more unusual shots. Afterall, I am not like everyone else, so I refuse to just show you what you can find on a postcard. What can I say?

A Visit to Ficelle's Garden

Bonjour tout le monde! So, in keeping with the promise I made to you a few days ago, today I will show you my garden. Here is one of my favourite benches that I like to sit on when the sun is shining warm...it also doubles as a nice place to sharpen my claws.

scratch, scratch, scratch

Here are some more pictures.

My Mom's planting shed

The house, the shed and part of the garden...you see me there on my bench??

And just because there are so many of them, I have to share with you some of the many wildflowers (violets, primroses and other small flowers) that are growing in another part of my garden. It is SO great being a cat because cats are so close to the ground...you humans can't imagine how nice it is to run through a patch of violets and have them brush against your tummy! When I come back in the house my paws and tummy smell so good MY Mom just can't help but give me lots of kisses. I like to have Mom's kisses. (No, L&T's Mom does not have tummy-kissing privileges yet.)

P.S. I have more photos from Lautrec. I'll show them to you tomorrow.

News From Home

Bonjour, Ficelle here...Lautrec called me today and told me that last night, for the first time, he slept next to his Dad. He said it wasn't at all as nice as sleeping next to his Mom, but that he is just so lonely for his Mom to come home that he finally broke down and decided to sleep next to Dad. Tiny still sleeps in the other room by herself.

Lautrec sent me these pictures...he said his Dad took them. I don't think Lautrec looks so happy here, but Tiny looks like she is hanging in. I told them that their Mom will be coming back to them in a few days so they just have to be tough and maybe take advantage of getting some good lovin' from their Dad.

I KNOW their Mom is missing them because she keeps snuggling up to me and I'm kinda sensitive about that so today I scratched her right on the nose...uh-huh...now Lautrec and Tiny's Mom has a nice souvenir from me...a pretty red line across her nose. hehehe!! Now she'll NEVER forget ME!! FICELLE!!! But hey, what does she expect when she starts getting all silly when I show her my toes (yes, I KNOW Lautrec calls them 'todes') and speaks in English one minute then French another so I only understand her half the time. She said something about 'bubblegum' while looking at my todes and I got scared so I smacked her. Nobody, I mean NOBODY is going to chew on my todes!!! Nononono!!

Ficelle and Neuchatel

Ahhhhhhh....this couch feels sooooo comfortable....I'm having a hard time going anywhere. Outside it is just awful. Awful, awful, awful. Cold, raining and awful.

But, yesterday L&T's mom was in the city of Neuchatel with her friend so I've decided to show you a picture she took which shows the center (old town), part of the castle, the lake and the mountains. Pretty, isn't it?

Ficelle's Favourites

Bonjour! Ficelle here again. Because the weather isn't very nice, I can't show you my garden yet so L&T's mom has asked me to share with you some of my favourite pictures that she took when she went to the open market in France on Saturday. These are my favourites and I thought you guys might also enjoy them. Bon appetit!!

Ficelle (Tails from Switzerland)

Bonjour, my name is Ficelle (which means 'string' in French). Lautrec and Tiny's mom asked me to make a few of the blog posts while she is visiting me and my family here in Switzerland.

As you might have guessed, that's me in these pictures...I'm napping on the top of the couch on a cushion...my favourite place in the house where I like to sleep and watch the world. I especially enjoy looking out this window at our garden on days when the weather is not so nice and I'm not inspired to go out...like today. Since I am a senior kitty (I'm 17 years old), on days like this I prefer to be inside where it is warm and cozy, but maybe tomorrow I will go outside and if I do I will give you a tour of my garden and my favourite places. Until then, I'm just going to return to my napping. A demain.
