So, now that you have had a cheer up lick, I'll get you up to speed on what's up around here now that Lautrec has gone off to the playground in the sky: Tiny is, well, she's sorta the same, but actually, I think she is starting to LIKE ME!! I know!! I can't believe it either, but she will actually now even come close to me and let me come close to her! She hisses at me from time to time, but I think there JUST MIGHT BE HOPE!!

Me, well, though I'm just a baby still, I did have my first heat cycle so Mom and Dad took Ellwood off to dog camp. Yep...dog camp...and he is having a FINE TIME!! He's having such a fine time that he might not want to be back!! I guess there are 2 kids there, and lots of dogs and nice people and he even gets to go on walks with horses! HORSES!! AND! I hear that he even gets to sleep in the beds with the kids!! Man! We don't get to sleep in anyone's bed around here..just our own...well, I don't. Tiny sleeps with Mom and Dad, but we dogs never get to get into their bed. Grrr.

I'm nearly all over my heat cycle so Ellwood will be coming home soon. Then I guess I get to go for some special operation so that Ellwood won't have to go away anymore like he had to this time...what is an 'operation'??? Is it a special meal??? Oooo!! I hope so!!

As you all said...the heart will know. And it did. It knew that Mr. President just wasn't the boy for us. He was handsome and charming, but there wasn't a spark...so the search continues. Thank you sooooo much for your wonderful comments and stories. I loved reading about everyone's searches and their finds...this all means so much to me. I do know that when the right kitty/cat comes along it will be clear. You will, of course, be the first to know!!

Picking up the pieces of my broken heart...

In the wake of Lautrec's death...a huge, immeasurable wake, I am now starting to heal. Never will I forget my dear, sweet, funny, gorgeous and delicate love of a boy, but I know that he is pain free now and playing with lots of other kitties who are over on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. I have a huge collection of photos of Lolo and several little videos...I look at them and it is as if he is still here with me. Of course he is...smack in the middle of my heart and always will be.

I have begun searching for a new Oriental Siamese or even just an Oriental (tricolor or tabby)...I'm addicted to those long lines...long legs, long ears, long nose and long, loud, drawn out meows that I have always loved.

In my search, I have come across some beautiful cats...parents of future kittens or kittens recently born. I'm just letting my heart lead...and fate. As has it, fate might be working now...we'll see...yesterday I was informed of a cat - no, not a kitten - that needs a home...a 4 year old Oriental Siamese Seal Point neutered boy...a love. I thought about it a lot since I learned the news and want to at least meet him. I will know when I see him and 'chat' with him whether it could be a good 'fit' to bring him into the house of Tiny, Ellwood and Ginger.

One thought I had in favour of possibly bringing home Mr. President (they boy's name is: Barak Obama...) is that as he is an adult, it might be easier for Tiny to accept him than if I brought home a brand new tiny kitten that might perturb her greatly; making her feel old and unloved. What are your thoughts? Any experience with this? I would really love to hear what anyone has to say and suggestions. I will meet Mr. President tonight.

My husband thinks it isn't a good idea to get a cat that is already 4 years old, but I'm not thinking about this...I thinking about the person he is and about the fact that he is being kicked out of his home (his parents are having marital problems and it seems they blame the cats...???). The timing is good...did fate bring him to me? I don't know, but I do want to meet him and just see/feel how it goes...I wouldn't be obliged to take him, but he would be available if I do want to bring him home. I do believe that if I meet him I will know the answer.

Please, please give me your thoughts on all this. Last night, for the first time, I didn't cry myself to sleep thinking of Lolo...well, I cried, but not bawling tears. I do miss him terribly though.

Tonight, after another 3 hours of IV, Lautrec wasn't doing any better...last night, he got up and vomited, but did not drink or pee. The doctor said that after 2 days of IV we should have seen a difference...today was the 5th day..so the vet said the only thing to do would be to operate and see what is inside.

At 8:15 this evening - Sunday - Lautrec was prepared for his operation...I held him while the narcosis took effect...talking to him and singing his song to him and telling him all the sweet words I always told him. I thanked him for all the love he brought to me and all that he taught me and told him that if he wanted to stay, I would be right here waiting for him, but that I would understand if he needed to go.

At 8:45, the vet came and told us that Lautrec had massive and extensive cancer. Unoperable. I went to see him...open with his insides showing all the sickness that he had been carrying around in silence and suffering from. While he was still breathing, but under narcosis, I had a last chance to kiss his sweet soft head and to tell him that I will love him forever and that I will wait for him to come back to me as he did before. (I firmly believe that Lautrec was the reincarnation of my first Siamese cat Lao'tza, whom I loved with equal passion).

I am just devastated and after bawling my eyes out for hours am completely exhausted. It all happened so fast and I never even knew he had cancer. And now, I am just aching through my entire body in the wake of his leaving...my sweet, sweet boy. I take comfort in knowing that he no longer hurts and suffers - for he was surely hurting and suffering these last days, of that I am sure...this is what helps me to accept his departure. Now, it is I that suffers...the enormous hole that he has left in my life and the lives of Tiny, Ellwood and Ginger (who loved her Uncle Lolo so much).

Good by Baby, good bye.......I LOVED YOU SO MUCH AND ALWAYS WILL.

Saturday update on Lolove

Today was another day of 4.5 hours of IV drip. During the night last night, Lolo got up twice and had long drinks of water (yes, all on his own!) and pee'd twice!! He did vomit up water once, but afterwards he returned and drank some more and kept it down that time. After his IV today, he pee'd again very yellow pee. This is important as it means he is clearing out the poisons that have come from his damaged liver...it is necessary - if I understand it all correctly - to help flush out the bad by doing the daily IVs...it will help his skin color come back too, eventually. It is very slow and we are looking at many more days of IVs. I don't mind...if it means that it will help Lolo, I will do it. He is my boy. If I could, I would fly to the moon for him.

On another note, Ginger has gone into heat so now we must keep her and Ellwood separate. To do this we have asked the breeder we bought Ellwood (and Ginger) from to keep him for a couple of weeks until Ginger has passed the critical stage of her heat cycle...then, on 1 February, she will be 'fixed'. Yes, she is only 7 months old and we were also shocked that she is already in heat...the timing for it is really bad especially with Lolo being so sick AND Ellwood's 'chemical castration' (a slow release capsule under his skin that acts chemically to reduce his 'drive') coming its end NOW resulting in his hormones 'waking up' just when we need them to be sleeping. Nature sure has a way of playing what it thinks are practical jokes on us. Personally, I am not laughing at this time..maybe in the future when all is seemingly in place I will see the humor in it.

For the moment, we are just taking each day as it comes and I continue to love my boy Lolo like crazy, to thank him for everything he has brought to my life, and to accept that perhaps he won't make it another day, though I am filled with joy each morning that he looks at me from under the covers and meows and purrs. I guess what I want to say is that when you love someone...TELL THEM. Never let a day go by without saying 'I love you'...it doesn't cost a thing, but it is priceless. Besides, if you say it, you can't regret NOT having said it. Right?

Friday Evening Lolove Update

Yesterday, Thursday, we spent most of the day at the vet doing a very slow IV drip - 5 hours of it - after which we returned home, Lolo vomited a little, THEN pee'd. Yay! I was so happy for this as he hadn't taken a wee in several days. During the night, which was restless, he did get up and took a long drink of water by himself...yay!! Today, we were back at the vet for a 4 hour session of an IV drip (a little bit faster this time)...during the drip, Lolo ate a few bisquits (yay!) and just after the vet took him off the drip, he pee'd again. I know these are small things and I shouldn't take too much joy in them, but they are improvements, right? Also, today Lolove was very alert and interested in all that was going on. He was even fidgety a bit during the IV as opposed to being lethargic. When we returned home, he didn't just get in his basket and sleep, but got up, hobbled downstairs (his paw is wrapped up because of the IV whatchamacallit in his front paw) to sit on a chair near where the dogs often go.

As I write this, Lolo is sleeping beside me; occasionally jerking or moving as cats do in teir sleep.

The vet said that we should light a candle for him that he makes it. I know he is still far from being 'out of the woods' and that I should also be prepared for a bad turn that could happen, but I just really want to believe that he will come through. He hears all your purrs and feels all your headbutts and nosetaps, he hears the prayers and feels the positive energy you are sending...I hoping above hope that he will use all this to pull through this horrible time. Poor baby, he is literally yellow. Anywhere where skin shows, it is yellow. I know this is a bad sign, but like I said, we are doing all we can to pull him through. I want to believe that he will make it. He must. I love him so!! He is LOLOve!!

Lolove update - Wednesday evening

First of all, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR WONDERFUL WORDS OF HOPE AND ENCOURAGEMENT!! Lautrec has been smothered with cyber kisses and serenaded with cyber purring...thank you so much for thinking of him!!

Today, we again spent several hours at the vet. Two of those hours were spent just sitting in the vets office while Lautrec received an IV drip...at first, he vomited about 5 minutes into the drip, but once the drip rate was slowed down, he didn't vomit any more. After about 20 minutes on the drip, he lifted his head and started taking notice of his surroundings which was a good sign since when we got to the vet, he just lay there in his wool blanket lined carrying bag seemingly oblivious to the world..not even reacting in his trademark way to the word 'chicken'. After the drip was finished and we had to change rooms, he was very vocal in his Siamese way...good!

Once we were home, he went to the food dish and had a few..just a few, bisquits...good! He hadn't eaten anything since yesterday though during the day he did have some milk. But to be honest, before going to the vet and on the way there (a 45 minute drive), he was so listless and unresponsive that I was fearing the worst.

Tomorrow (Thursday) is another day...I hope that during the night he finds it in his heart to go to the toilet (it has been several days that he hasn't gone) and to not vomit. Of course, I also hope he is feeling better and it shows, but the vet said he is very sick and that he won't heal in just a couple of days. Also, the jaundice (yellow skin) will take a while to go away, too.

But just having a meowing, purring Lautrec is good news to me...I just hope and pray that he is recovering and that this is not just a temporary, drug-induced improvement. I love my baby boy so much!! He truly is my LOLOve!

BTW, Tiny is doing fine though she is very worried about Lautrec and shows it by being rather nervous around him. She even has worked herself up to the point of vomiting spit (no food)...she is a nervous girl anyway, so this does not surprise me...perhaps she is just mirroring my worry in her own way. Bless her...she is so sweet and so touching! She lover Lolo, too...in her way!!

Lolove....VERY SICK

Hello Everyone...

Sorry for not blogging for some time, but Lautrec is very ill and I fear greatly for his life. He not only has yellow skin, but has a half-functioning liver and pancreas problems. He has not eaten for several days nor had any water. We spent the good part of the day at the vet yesterday undergoing several different tests, x-rays and ultrasounds. The FIV test was inconclusive as it came out neither positive nor negative. He also has inflammation around his lungs. He needs to do a poop, but won't consider visiting the litter box.

I 'injected' water in his mouth last night, but this morning he vomited back up. The vet gave him antibiotics and something to help the swelling go down.

Lautrec is laying in his basket next to me and is purring...bless him. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!! Please, please, please, please, please, please say a prayer for him that he gets better. The vet (who speaks Czech and I only sort of speak it) says we can only wait and see what happens (but, of course, will do all he can in the interim)...though he did say prayers are also good. So, I am asking you to please say one (or more, if you can spare them) for my dear, sweet boy.

Here, on what may well be our last day of nice Fall weather, I want to say that I will do my little part to achieve world peace.

I offer to forgive and forget that I ever saw Ginger sitting on my chair.

I will make peace with the idea that she loves me so much that she worships the ground (and chair) that I sit and walk on.

I promise to be zen about it and will not make a fuss.

(Though if she EVER does it again I will be forced to show her my Elvis look - a.k.a. my WildFang look!)

PEACE AND LOVE to all of you.

May we all learn to get along so that peace becomes a possibility.

We don't have to love everyone, but we do need to tolerate everyone!

Tiny's Tuesday - A Tale of Two Boys

Hi there Efurryone! It's Tuesday so that means you get me: Tiny.

And this Tuesday is a Twos Day...

A Tale about Two Boys Day.

The first boy is Lolo(ve).

Just to let you know, he did go to the vet yesterday and the vet said that Lolo has some kidney issues again...and the fact that he was dehydrated only added to his kidney problems so he got some liquid injections and some medication. The vet told Mom that Lolo should have 3 of those syringes (the one if front of him in the picture) of water per day...which is about 10dl (don't ask me what that is in ounces..I'm French!). Which means if he doesn't drink that approximate amount by himself, Mom should use that syringe to 'shoot' water into his mouth.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the water fights.

Hehe.

(Lautrec) 'What? No, no, no...no shooting water into my mouth!

I'll drink! I'll drink!!

Maybe.'

And our second boy on this TwosDay is Ellwood.

Don't bother straining your eyes, you won't see him in this picture though this is exactly where he was last seen.

Actually, at the time of us writing this, we don't see him anywhere as he has once again (ONCE AGAIN!!) gone off galavanting...

this time he just simply took off during a nice walk he was on with Mom, Dad and Ginger and decided not to listen when he was called back.

That was at 3:30 in the afternoon....he still isn't home!! He's been gone for 7 hours though just a little while ago he was heard barking outside, but when Mom and/or Dad went to get him, he was no longer there.

Boys!

I'm so glad I'm a smart, clever and well-behaved girl...

that drinks her 10dl of water a day.

UPDATE: Ellwood came home at 07:30 this morning after several 'passings' by the house just to bark and run (and get Mom out of bed and outside in the cold, empty night). He really is a teenager. As I write this he is sleeping and has a great look of self-pity on his (dirty) face.

Even when Mom wants to change the sheets.

I just stay.

And she takes everything away that she can..

then surrounds me with the fitted sheet.

Hi there again!! It's me, Ginjah!!

Yep, and there is Ellwood running and running and running.

Actually, Ellwood has been doing a lot - I MEAN A LOT - of that lately. So much so that I am getting rather annoyed at him....why? Well! Ellwood's new trick is that when Mom, Ellwood and I (and sometimes Dad) go for a walk, Ellwood is great and fun and silly and all that with me for the first half-hour of the walk, then he DISAPPEARS!! Seriously!! Several nights in a row he hasn't come home until 04:00 in the MORNING/NIGHT!

Do you believe it??

Well, he did it AGAIN yesterday after our nice nice walk in the forest near our house. I just don't understand why he does it. Afterall, we had a great time running around the rocks and structures, waiting for Mom and Dad, and shootin the breeze while admiring our surroundings.

Seriously! The forest is so cool!!

Just look at those rock formations...even they are smiling!!

And look at the way the shadows kinda ooze all over the rocks!!

Isn't that just cool? Mom and Dad took lots of pictures...I honestly don't know what they will do with them all...

Friends on Friday - Update on Berda and Agent!!

Hi there!! Remember last Friday Ellwood told you about our friends Berda and Agent and that they both needed operations?

Well, they had them...Berda had a large ulcer removed from her tummy and Agent had his spleen removed because of a tumor on it (on the whole thing).

Well, on Monday they weren't feeling too great.

On the left is Agent and on the right is Berda.

But we have GREAT news!! Yesterday, this is how they looked!!

Yep, that is Berda (the grandma!) on the left and Agent on the right.

We've even heard that Agent has been sneaking out of his garden to visit his lady friends!! Just after his operation and he can't wait to see his friends!!

Berda (which is a way of saying 'bug' or 'ladybug' in Polish - because her bean Mom is Polish) looks small next to Agent, but we learned that she is no longer giving back her food and that on her walk yesterday she even looked happy again!!

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR PURRS AND WOOFS!!!

Hi there, Ginger (Ginjah!) here...

Tiny sends her excuses for not posting yesterday. She said she just didn't feel like writing anything about herself (women are so fickle!! - I'm just a girl, so I can say that!! haha!). What I wonder is WHAT she actually did with her day (or any other day for that matter)...it seems that all Tiny and Lautrec do is laze around and do nothing.

At least Ellwood and I work. In fact, we have lots of jobs...we shred wood and paper, we wrestle with each other, we OCCASIONALLY bark at things (though Mom really doesn't like us doing what she calls 'useless barking'), we run around the garden and make holes in fun places...etc.

And when I'm not working in tandem with Ellwood, I freelance...

Hello there, it's me...Ellwood. Here I am with some sunflowers from our garden and even though they are really pretty, I'm sad. Why? Because two of my friends, Berda and Agent (they are Irish Terriers) are not well. Today, Berda is going to the hospital to be operated because the doctor thinks she has a tumor in her stomach.

Berda is on the right being hugged by her little bean, Adele. Agent, who has a tumor on his spleen is there in between little beans Adele and Klara. Agent will be operated tomorrow.

The big beans and the little beans love Berda and Agent sooo much and they are sooo sad that they are sick. Please, please, please send healing purrs to Berda and Agent and purray that their operations go ok. We have our paws crossed and the cats are purring like crazy...

Fabulous Fastfood Friday

Hello there and Happy Friday!! So, you're wondering what these pictures and 'fastfood' have to do with each other. Well, like any fastfood place, there is a counter that you walk up to, lean against and order, right?

THIS, my friends, is MY fastfood counter!!

No, these are not just any ordinary stairs...

...they are the stairs that go over the pantry!!

Thanks to my keen sense of hearing, I KNOW whenever Mom heads into the pantry so all I have to do is I run down the stairs and get in this position and make my fastfood order (it really is 'fast' food because when I'm lucky, my order is filled right away...Mom just reaches up and puts food in my mouth!!)

If she is a bit slow, all I have to do is reach out my paw (what I am in the process of doing in the above picture) and give Mom a little coaxing tap...or, I'll just grab whatever it is she is TAKING HER SWEET TIME to give to me!! Hehehehe!!

I bet all of you will now want your own at-home fastfood counter like I have.

But then again, maybe some of you already do!!

Thursday thoughts...

Normally, since it is Thursday, we would be chatting about our garden (see Jonesie and SOFG crew - here - for more on that subject!), but would you believe that despite ALL the work we did in the garden yesterday, Mom didn't take one single picture? What did we do? Well, we cut the grass, raked leaves (yes, believe it or not, we already have a ton of leaves!), pruned various bushes and plants and hung several sunflowers upside down so that the seeds will dry and we can feed them later to the birds. Yum! (Ok, some of you might be thinking that 'yum' had to do with my thoughts about birds, but as Mom would never forgive me for that kind of a thought, that 'yum' - officially - was what I imagine the birds will say when they eat the sunflower seeds that we grew for them! So, as you just read, we did lots in the garden, but just can't prove it...dang!

On another note, the other day Mom and Dad packed up ALL OF US in the car and we went to stay a night in our city home (we hardly ever go there anymore now that we have the dawgs)...Tiny and I have a nice, cozy spot in a cage in the car, but the two dawgs just lie there on the back seat (harnessed of course). Take a look at this picture...yep, that is yours truly there on the left giving the eye through our cage...lucky for those dawgs I was in that cage or I would have given them some nice tiger stripes on their noses. hehehe! Never underestimate the power of The Lolo!!

P.S. Ok, they may LOOK cute, but don't trust them..they are evil creatures!!

Tiny's Tuesday - FINALLY!!

Normally, I don't need to be in the spotlight. Actually, the spotlight is really not MY place (you'll never hear Lolo saying that!!)...I like to remain in the shadows...see, like this:

But there are times that no matter what I do to get away, the flashy beast (with or without it's flash) finds me, but in this case, I think it is because of the 'Spotlight King' here next to me. Speaking of which, just so you know, it was a rather chilly morning when we were 'framed' here and that is why Lolo(ve) is wearing his Winter sweater...with him not being all better and all, Mom thought it couldn't hurt if he had that extra warmth since he insisted on going outside and sitting in the sun. He is doing better today...he even reaches out and grabs for chicken when Mom feeds it to him!

Gardening Thursday - The Bities

Hello Gardening Buddies! Today we went to check on the squash garden and look what Mom found just laying on one of the big squash leaves...Whaaaa?

Look closer...we are still trying to figure out WHO did this...

Whoever it was likes the baby squashes.

There are tons of babies so we don't care.

We also have these squash that are starting to look big...

I think they are called Winter Squash.

I just couldn't resist showing you this spider web...even though Mom FREAKS OUT when a spider is near, she did get close enough to admire the spider's work. Me, I could really care less. {yawn}

And well, there wasn't only that mystery little beastie getting the bities on the squash, there was me, giving the grass the bities! Grrr!

And me posing with my diamond studded collar that Attie gave me last Christmas...Mom said I really should wear it more often since it compliments my blue eyes...but you can't really see that here.

And, well, back to the house because I'm still kinda tuckered out from being sick so I wanna go sleep now.

But wait! I smell an introoder!!

That DANG introoder pee'd on our bead curtain...

AGAIN!!

Blast him!! Ick!!!

And FINALLY, inside in the warm house and curled up next to (and actually touching - OMG!!!) Tiny. I'm feeling better for the most part, but I'm still tired and I don't feel much like drinking water - which makes Mom ABSOLUTELY CRAZY!! Any suggestions on getting me to drink? I even turned down chicken broth (no salt and no fat in it = no flavour)...Mom said I'm making her pre-maturely gray, but I really don't know how I can do that!

Hello, hello, hello!!! I'm doing good. I'm doing great. The daily injections are all over with and now it is just the pill popping...Mom said she LOOOOOOVVVVESSS giving Tiny and I pills. Ha. I love getting out of getting pills...it is so much fun to wrestle with Mom! She is really good cuz she's big and can sit on us, but we are really good at twisting ourselves out of nearly any situation. Poor Mom...she doesn't always win.

But, enough of that....here I am eating this really lousy food that I have to eat since Mom won't give me anything else...would you believe I saw her doping it up? Doesn't matter if it is canned food or dry food, she's always putting powders or drops into it. Even that won't last too long I guess, but will I survive eating this awful food for another week?

And here I am with my play face on...I feel so much better that I'm even interested in playing again. Gotta go!

I am still receiving treatment.

BUT, as you can see from the look on my face,

I will not tolerate that bandage anymore.

(Shortly after this picture was taken,

I ripped off the bandage with my bare teeth,

then I pulled that tube thingy out of my leg...

and it hurt like ********, but I'm free at last!)

And while I was doing my naughty deeds,

Tiny was over sleeping on the dawgs' bed!

Ha! Serves them right for thinking

that they can sleep on OUR bed and get away with it.

She should have pee'd on it...hehehehe!

More on Lolo...

OK, it is officially MY day today, but as Lolo had to spend most of HIS day at the vet, I thought I should talk about him instead of me since my day is usually pretty boring.

Mom and Dad took Lolove to the vet after he went since Saturday without eating or drinking much. The vet wanted to keep him there so that they could re-hydrate him and check him out better. Poor Lolo, they had to poke him and stick needles in him, but he did come home looking a bit happier and the first thing he did was to go eat - that's good, right? He has to go back tomorrow, but just for more liquids.

He has to eat a special food for a couple of days and will be on antibiotics. The vet said it looks, but she couldn't be totally sure, that he somehow ingested some poison!! Poor Lolo!!

After his injections yesterday, he had a REALLY puffy paw, which worries Mom...

Any ideas? And does anyone know how to read this???

When it comes to getting pictures of me and Tiny (yes, together), it is nearly impossible already just to have us close enough to each other so that we are both in the picture, but sometimes Mom gets lucky...then comes the really hard part: getting us to BOTH look at the flashy beast.

or, it could be that NEITHER of us looks.

And finally, if all goes right...well almost... we will both AT LEAST be looking in the same direction. Hey, you can't ask for perfect all the time!!

I'm a big boy and I have some fairly good size mits (paws) and, well, as you know, Ellwood and Ginger are both terriers, which means they are both diggers, BUT, even if all three of us got out in our back field and started digging, there is NO WAY we could make a mess like this:

Would you believe that 2 nights ago, during the night, a pack (herd? group? ?) of wild pigs came down from the forest and did this? And what you are looking at isn't all of it..just part of it!! Dad nearly fainted when he saw the 'work'....Mom just laughed!

I'll say this: I'm just glad I wasn't out there when they all came...I SURELY would have fainted! (Yeah, go on and laugh...tell me you wouldn't have fainted...I won't believe you!)

...and give a certain calming beauty to the whole ensemble.

We all watch over it and admire it and enjoy frolicking and rolling in the deep grass out behind the barn where the squashes are growing...

... just as we enjoy listening to the purring sounds of the bumble bees as they lazily fly from one Japanese Anemone to another and another (we have hundreds of them) or as they crawl around on the dinner plate sized center of the giant sunflowers or as they try to find the secret place to step on to open the snapdragon's mouth or the sweetpea's heart. Gardens are great. Here we are doing our best to help and appreciate ours on these very last days of summer (and oh what a short and rotten summer it was here....grrr.)

You see, even Ellwood is praying that we have just a few more days of warm weather...bless him!

This picture might seem a bit boring to you, but if you could have sound with it you would really laugh. Why? Because Mr. Lolo walks down about 5 steps (to where he is in this picture) then starts howling for Mom to come upstairs and give him love. Did I say howl? Actually, it sounds more like he is screaming AND someone is sitting on him even though he is all alone there on his 5th step down. As soon as Mom comes 'to his rescue' (!), his voice changes completely. I can't believe that Mom gets suckered into this wimpy carnival show every time, but she does...she comes quickly to answer 'Baby's call' (yes, she calls him 'Baby'...any self-respecting adult mancat would never allow himself to be given the name 'Baby'...geez...he really IS a baby!!) and to give him love and attention all because 'Baby' is too chicken to go all the way down the steps and ask for good loving directly from the Mom. Mom says that when he is being so noisy that she is afraid the neighbors will think she is torturing him if he screams/howls like that for too long. Actually, it is the other way around...he is torturing all of us!! What a goofball he is.

Outside bits and pieces

Since we are EXTREMELY late posting today, we decided to just put up some bits and pieces of outside things. Forgive us for being so late, but we've had visitors AND plumbing problems....NOT a nice combination!! Thankfully, us cats (and dawgz) don't suffer too much when the dishes can't be washed in the kitchen sink, but I think Mom is nearly crazy from it...thankfully, a plumber came today and made a big hole in the wall, found the blocked pipe and replaced it!! Woo hoo! (or so says Mom...we could really care less!)

Can you believe that our sunflowers have grown to 4 meters (approx. 12 ft) high?? The tallest ones are now in bloom (this picture is a few days old).

BABY SISTER SITTER...

until last week.

Man! I tell you, this babysitting Ginger job is just that: A JOB!! Whew! Trying to keep this pesky little critter out of trouble and amused is 24-hour, round-the-clock, non-stop work! And does she respect her big brother? Ha! No! I put up with A LOT. Ginger is one feisty little female and with those razor sharp teeth she has, you take your life in your hands when you mess with her.

But sometimes I absolutely must knock her down to size due to her tendency to get just a little too big for her britches.

But the lesson is short and in a blink of the eye, she has me down again, fighting for my dignity.

Geez, is it always going to be like this?

Some of you may have the (mis)impression that I am very cool about this whole new dog situation, but that isn't entirely correct. I am not going to get all hysterical about the new little one, but I made it very clear from the get-go that I will not put up with anything from her. How? Well, when Mom presented Ginger to me I promptly hissed AND wapped her on the nose. She let out a little whine and I walked away. Let us hope that that is the last time I have to show her her place.

I am most senior around here so my word is pretty much law (forget what Lautrec said yesterday...he is full of air). I choose the best places to sit, the best places to sleep, I tell Mom when we need to eat and...

... if need be, I decide if punishment is due - in this case in the form of 10 minutes in the puppy straight-jacket (a.k.a. the carrying bag hanging from any high place). Ginger found herself in the jacket recently - simply for being too rambunctious. Maybe next time she decides to be a puppy, she'll think again and be a kitten. (Though I would probably even wap her if she were a kitten.) (hehehe!)

WARNING: Do NOT be influenced by this picture. This critter; this little squirt, is a downright terror! Believe me, this little goof-ball of a dawg should be locked up behind bars night and day until it is a dog.

What?? Do NOT tell me that you think this gal is cute. No, no, no, no, no!! Don't be a sucker to her terror charms...she is a wild little whirlwind with razor-sharp teeth and a tail that swings back and forth at a billion miles per hour (which she does to hypnotise you and make you hers)...look away - QUICK!!

We, the FELINES (seen here watching from the 'safety' of our perches), don't mind the little girl too much (no, we WILL NEVER cuddle with her and no, we will never stop hissing at her!!), but, we FELINES; are nearly not bothered any more by Ellwood. But I seriously fear that by accepting either of those dawgs in any way it will be a breach of our Kit-o-catic oath. We do hope for peace in the house, but that will ALWAYS have to come on OUR TERMS!
