Day Dreaming

Hello furrends, I don't know about you, but when I've finished a meal and my tummy is full I get sorta tired...you know...I want to doze off a bit. It is in these moments that I dream of doing extraordinary things.

Sometimes I pretend that I am flying through the air, above the trees looking down at tiny dots below me that are houses and cars and trees, or I'm flying through clouds, or I'm following a flock of birds...oh, this is so much fun...

Other times I keep my feet on the ground (or barely) and I dream that I am in Africa (I saw it on tv!!) chasing a gazelle or a zebra...brr duh da domp, brrr duh da DOMP...the sound of me galloping on the dry, powdery ground...
...my heart is racing like crazy because I am so close to the striped beast that my whiskers are touching it.....

Tiny told me that she also daydreams, but usually about chasing a dog...

I don't know what she has about chasing dogs, but frankly, I think she needs to watch more t.v., the girl is so boring! She even said that when she dreams about flying, she just dreams about flying into a tree to catch a bird (even though Mom forbids us to catch birds!!)...she's so boring I'm starting to fall asleeeeeeeeeeee

Sour Cream is GOOD!!

Hi there and happy Saturday!! And what a good day it is! The sun shining (yes, the solar panels have been working overtime) AND Mom gave us sour cream! Yay!! (In case you are wondering, the container that I am licking says 'sour cream' - in Czech.)

I like sour cream on a spoon...
...on Mom's finger...
and best of all I like licking the container when Mom has taken all she wants from it...MMmmmm!! Sour cream is GOOOOOD!!
Tiny likes it, too, but since she has a tiny tongue, I get more...hahahaha!!!

Spring/Summer Dreaming

I don't know about you guys, but Tiny and I are seriously dreaming about Spring and Summer. We both agreed that we dream of doing this again...

And Tiny said she dreams of this:

And I dream of this:

Here's to you and your friday dreaming..may all your dreams come true...soon!!

Our Friend Rusty

Meet Rusty... he's our fur friend with a special kind of fur!!

Rusty lives in our garden and watches over it for us when we aren't there. He is great because he never fights and he never pigs all the food and he doesn't steal stuff (neither do I and don't you even listen to Tiny!) and he doesn't hit me for no reason and he doesn't leave uncovered packages in the litterbox (like SOMEBODY does) and, well, he is cool!! Rusty is our buddy!! We love you Rusty!!

Whiskers on Wednesday

Hi! I'm back after taking the day off yesterday so Tiny could do her post...I just read what she said about me and I absolutely deny that I steal from her...I am not a thief!! I kindly accept what is offered to me, that is all! Sometimes Tiny just doesn't know that she wants to offer a mouse to me so I have to convince her and she usually realises that I am right and she gives me her mouse. So you see? I am only accepting gifts that are meant for me...I am not stealing them.

OK, now that we have that all cleared up I would like to share with you something that Tiny and I are both very proud of...our whiskers.

Whiskers are great...especially at nighttime or when we are exploring some dark corner of the cellar or barn or garage...our whiskers tell us when we are getting close to something such as a wall or other object (I think some of you humans have special whiskers on your cars, right?). They are also really good for helping Mom clean cobwebs from hidden corners. Too bad you humans don't have whiskers...or maybe not...they could never look as nice on you as they do on us!!

Tiny Tuesday

Hi there!! I'm Tiny...well, I'm not really that 'tiny' anymore, but I think I look pretty good for a 15-year-old kitty! Come sit next to me and I will tell you my story. Tiny wasn't my original name, but when I was little I did some pretty crazy things like once I chased a dog right into a wall! haha!! (he asked for it because he came to 'play' with me but then I scared him and he ran so I chased him..it's not MY fault the dummy didn't look where he was going and ran into that wall!) and yes, I climbed a tree...actually several and had to spend a total of 12 nights way up in the trees. Mom said that I was Tiny and Mighty and mighty tiny to be chasing dogs!! So, the name stuck and today I just go by Tiny. But I'm still Mighty so watch out!!

I am the self-appointed guardian of the house and garden...

And I am THE hunter in the family because although Lautrec is handsome and all that, he is a lousy hunter. His idea of hunting is to steal from me and most of the time he can't do that so I just play hard to get for a little while then I let him take it...mighty he is not!

In addition to the above-mentioned qualities, I love to cuddle and play, I can walk on a lease like a dog (really! except I know how to NOT go around the wrong side of a telephone pole or sign post!) and I'm funny (Mom says I'm a 'goof-ball, but I don't think I've ever seen a ball of goof...can someone please explain?)!!

Lolo Monday/Lolo Lundi

Ok, so you're wondering 'who/what is Lolo?'...I AM LOLO...you know, short for 'Lautrec'!! And I've decided that today will be dedicated to ME. LOLO. LOVELY. SWEET. FUNNY. CLEVER. CHARMING. INTELLIGENT. GORGEOUS..oh, sorry, what was I talking about? Oh yeah, me!! Seriously though, LOOK at this face...tell me you don't love me.

Here I am being the hunter/tough guy, but looking ready to pounce on my favourite play birdie.

And me again, in my winter sweater...

And again on one of my favourite places - Mom's lap. (Yes, I know, I have a nice tummy. No, you CANNOT kiss it!!)

I now officially declare that every Monday should be called Lolo Monday. And since I was named after the famous French painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, I think it is only fitting that we also call this day Lolo Lundi. Voila!! Merci!

(BTW: Mom said Tuesday has to be called 'Tiny Tuesday' because, and I don't agree, 'we must be fair'.)

Sunday 21 February 2010

Sunshine, marvelous sunshine!!

I love sunny days...I love laying in the sun and soaking up the heat...love it, love it, LOVE IT!! Today was a sunny day so I had to make sure my solar panels were aligned properly to get maximum solar benefit (see how cute I am - above). Tiny was in the sun, too and I know what you're thinking...that she looks so cute and so sweet, but it's all an act!! Really!!
I got down off the windowsill to do some floor stretches...you know, cat floor yoga (and to get more solar coverage)...and WHO comes along and JUST HAS TO pick a fight with passive me? Tiny! Yeah, I was just laying there minding my own business and she has to come along and put me in the shade so I gently tried to push her aside and 'PAFF!!' she dives into me....geez!! Sunshine can be dangerous!!

Sink-row-nized Snoozing (Olympics)

I'm not sure that I understand about this Sink-Row-Nized Snoozing contest by The Island Cats...do we sink? do we row? ...and what on earth is 'nized'? I asked Mom and she said that it is when Tiny and I are doing the same thing, the same way...like both eating our breakfast together or both looking at Mom for some of her dinner...but then why do they talk about 'sinking' and 'rowing' and 'nizing'? I sure know I don't want to do the first two things, but I've just decided that I don't like the sound of 'nizing' either so I'll just go take a nap instead. Bye.

Nice to Meet You!!

Hi! This is us...Weez Da Bad Cats...but actually, we aren't so bad, we just like to think we are!!

I'm Lautrec (I'm the gorgeous fella on right of this picture) and I'll do all the talking around here, or most of it because I am Siamese and EVERYONE KNOWS that Siamese cats like to talk!! I'm 11 years old and I am the nicest, smartest cat in the world. Really!!

Over there on the left side of the picture is Tiny...she is 15 and is an Abyssinian. She thinks (THINKS!!) I'm scared of her, but I'll tell you a secret: I just pretend to be afraid of her cuz I know it makes her feel important when I get out of her way. Really!! But I do have to admit that she does a lot of really scarey things...like she climbs up trees and chases dogs...uh-huh...I would never do that. So maybe you could say that she is the muscles around here and I am the brains. Yep, you could totally say that.
